Meet Steve Pullara and His Cool Beans Band

Steve Pullara is a Philadelphia based New Jersey born singer/songwriter/artist whose musical roots go deep within many cultural traditions. In his music you can hear influences from his Grandfather Giuseppe to Pete Seeger to Louis Prima. His mix of drawing and singing harken the days of the Gene London and the Sandy Becker TV shows from the 50's & 60's. With many years of entertaining kids and families under his belt in the Philly area, he is comfortable with this niche and very at home with his audience. Often, Steve is seen entertaining at commercial and non commercal venues such as: television, large amphitheaters, zoos, township parks, schools, hospitals and festivals performing his talents. At these sites you can also view him in concert solo or with his band called: Steve Pullara and His Cool Beans Band. He's also entertained on NBC's Children's Miracle Network Telethon, at Give the Kids the World in Kissimmee, Florida, The American Lung Association and The March Of Dimes; putting smiles on faces and helping them to raise money for their particular causes.

Steve and His Cool Beans Band have also sold-out four concerts for The Delaware Association for The Education of Young Children at the Wilmington School of Music's theater (1400 seats.)

 

Philadelphia, national and international disc jockeys have widely used Steve Pullara's songs to break up

their formats with his list of topics ranging from Potatoes to Bananas and from Aliens to Elephants. His

songs have ranked as year-end top ten achievers among listeners and fans for 4 years in a row on WXPN's

Kids Corner. He's now also been expaned into satellite and cable music formats such as XM, Comcast, etc.

Typically, Steve's music is spirited and zany crossing over into many diverse avenues ranging from Folk to

Bluegrass. This eclectic diversity makes his music very appealing to a wide audience from kids to adults.

Of Musicroni and Zooboogie on the Cool Beans Music® label.

 

Steve's CD entitled A Big Bowl Of Musicroni also garnered two major national awards: A Parents'

There's a "New Kid Band in Town"

Popular family oriented bands come from afar to play in the tri-state area because of it's warm reception, but apparently there is a very popular band in our own backyard of Warminster, PA: Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band. They've attracted thousands to their concerts these past Summers & festival seasons. They've quickly become a local favorite. Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band have headlined and packed the Philadelphia Zoo, Longwood Gardens, Various First Nights, Penn's Landing, The NJ State Aquarium, The Wilmington Opera House, The Bethlehem Musikfest, and The Statue of Liberty State Park in New Jersey, just to name a few.

Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band also receive national and international attention for their albums. Here's just one sampling review:

Steve Pullara keeps it simple. He takes a theme-like learning to hop-expands it moderately, then repeats it with infectious rhythms and rhymes. There are no complicated stories, no pedagogical attempts to bolster self esteem. There's just good clean, silly fun-with a beat. The songs deal with frogs, bathtubs, gumdrops, whales, in - line skating, worms, and scary things found (and not found) under the bed. There's a jaunty Italian number: though not translated, the meaning is perfectly clear. Pullara's tunes-delivered with dash and musical ingenuity-are simple, too, and immensely likable. This tape should be a popular addition to a collection.

"Hop Like a Frog" was nominated as one of six finalists in the international "Childrens' Web Awards" category of Best Music for Young Children.

They just released a new album entilted Zooboogie to follow their former release of A Big Bowl Of Musicroni. Many of the songs from this new CD are already getting airplay and are being featured in their concerts. A Big Bowl Of Musicroni garnered two major awards: A Parents' Choice Approved & NAPPA Honors In Best Audio For Children.
