Special
Education Programs: Steve Pullara has developed many programs
for special needs children and settings. He has presented up
to 130 programs per year for Special Education and Intermediate
Units. Cool Beans Music® themes incorporate many original
musical compositions dealing with: eye hand coordination, call
back and participation, visual association, sound buttons for
activity processes, props, language skills, rhymes with add-in
music, physical activity, multicultural appreciation, historical
themes, holidays, sign language, spelling, memory, attention
building and the learning of new words from other languages in
songs. Steve also has tremendous success with his alphabet drawing
and music blend techniques, especially with autistic and down's
syndrome children. There is much more about this program described
at the bottom of this page. For

American
History Through Musical Themes: Using a narrative, combined with
employing standard and non-standard American music through a
live band, our history comes alive. The premise of this program
is to tie together a historical theme with musical aides, interactivity
& props. Steve engages the audience's imagination in the
music presented. Instruments incorporated into this program's
music are: fifes, drums, banjo, bass and guitar. This concert
program is ideal for school assemblies, museums and historical
settings. It's been tested, tried and successful.
Newly
added "A Visit With Ben Franklin": As the stage
curtain opens, Steve Pullara is playing a tune on his fife that
he just heard from the soldiers marching in front of his studio.
He's dressed in authentic 1700's garb. After playing it, he asks
the apprentices (his audience) if they know what new tune it
is. Upon hearing that recognizable melody the audience shouts
out "It's Yankee Doodle" enter ... Dr. Ben Franklin
(as portrayed by renowned historical intepretor Bill Ochester.)
Steve then asks Doctor Franklin if he knows about this new music.
Doctor Franklin explains the tune's meaning and goes over why
he is in Philly at an important meeting drafting up a Declaration
of Independence. He also adds a fun interactive story about
his famous Key and Kite Experiment. Audiences will be
amazed at this unique presentation by this detailed portrayal
and scenario.
After
Ben shares his witty dialogue with the audience, he will be encouraged
by Steve to pose in a chair for his portrait. Whereby, the next
fifteen minutes of this program are spent teaching the audience
how to draw Ben Franklin's likeness by using the letters of the
alphabet. Steve will then instruct the audience using a large
easel with this technique. Audiences are encouraged to follow
the instructor with paper and pencil by copying Steve's unique
drawing method of shapes that they know. Upon completion, participants
will be encouraged to hold up their pictures for all to see.
Everybody will have a wonderful keepsake of that portrait drawing
from this fun and memorable event.
The last
five minutes of this program ends with a sending song to give
closure to the whole event. After that song is sung, Ben and
Steve treat the audience to a question and answer session about
that period in history. They conclude by posing for pictures
with the attendees.
